Charles Rennie
Mackintosh Furniture Collection
Bruce Hamilton Furniture Makers has gained
recognition as a producer of fine quality Charles Rennie
Mackintosh reproduction furniture. Bruce has undertaken
many Mackintosh commissions, both for private clients
and commercial outlets and has acknowledgements from both
the Glasgow School of Art (GSA) and the Charles Rennie
Mackintosh Society which is based at the Queen’s
Cross Church in Glasgow. Notable commissions include Dining
Room furniture for House for an Art Lover, Glasgow and
both Directors’ Room and Boardroom chairs for the
GSA.
In the Summer of 2004, Bruce was invited by the GSA to
exhibit his CRM furniture in Port Vendres, France. This
exhibition provided visitors to the town with an in-depth
insight into the wide-ranging aspects of Mackintosh's
work as an architect and designer and water colourist.
As part Scottish and French celebration of the centenary
of the Entente Cordiale, the exhibition featured reproduction
Mackintosh pieces that Bruce supplied.
During the Glasgow Mackintosh Festival in 2006, Bruce
exhibited a selection of his reproduction Mackintosh Furniture
in the Billiard Room of the Willow Street Tea Rooms in
Glasgow.
In this section we are proud to show a selection of our
current Mackintosh reproduction portfolio. If you are
looking for a particular piece of Mackintosh furniture,
which does not feature on our site, we will always endeavor
to reproduce a piece as close to the original as possible.
Alternatively, we can manufacture 'in the style of' Mackintosh,
if preferred.
